Reflect Upon Your Present Blessings

Reflect Upon Your Present Blessings - Wants and Needs - Gratitude Blog

As humans, our minds can often wonder with worry. One minute we are worrying about our lives 5 years in the future, the next we regret the past, and the next we are anxious about the present day or week. It’s a never-ending cycle.

Why is it so easy to reflect on our misfortunes and to worry about the things out of our control? Why isn’t it easier to reflect on our blessings and our joyful memories? If we really compare our blessings and our misfortunes, past and present, our many blessings outweigh our few misfortunes.

Take a minute, right now, and reflect on your blessings. Here are a few to get you started: life, your computer, phone, or tablet, friends, family, etc.

Make a habit of reflecting on your blessings everyday.

“Reflect upon your present blessings — of which every man has many — not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.” – Charles Dickens
