Keeping track of things can be tedious and that’s why when it comes to lifestyle apps I prefer them to be new, easy, and functional.
‘Wants and Needs‘ is one such new release I got to know about recently. It allows users to keep track of things depending on their Wants, Needs, and Thanks, which is something I found most peculiar at first but then later grew to appreciate.
Not a day goes by that I don’t end up desiring one thing or another. However, I have to stop myself because of other needs, and sometimes I even forget about the thing I wanted in the first place. Through this useful app I was able to look at things in a different light, one that allowed me to prioritize my desires in an effective manner.
How to use Wants and Needs for iOS
The first thing you’ll notice is the app’s simplistic design. I liked the orange color scheme, it looked great with the green that shows up in the bar, pie, and linear graphs and charts. Maybe the developers might offer some more color scheme choices in the future but right now I’m happy with orange.
The overview screen allows you to navigate the app by simply tapping the tab you want to enter which include Wants, Needs, Thanks, and Starred (which basically accommodates things that don’t fit in the latter sections). The main screen also gives you a graphical representation of the data you’ve entered in the app.
Adding things to the app is easy. Just tap the plus button on the top right corner of the screen. If you’re already in one of the sections then the app automatically adds the item in the said section. If you are on the main screen then it will ask you to select the section you want to add in. You can change the placement of the items anytime you want.
The app also allows you to add a note to the things you add, along with pictures. All of the date can be exported as a PDF, printed, or shared through the iOS Share Sheet. The app also provides you with password protection and supports Touch ID. The iCloud sync allows date to be safe over multiple devices.
The Thanks section is one of the best features of this app, the more you use it, the more it’ll grow on you and possibly help you become grateful for things you might take for granted. It also has weekly reminders (that you can set) to keep using the app.
Final thoughts
Wants and Needs is a great app which will help you look at life a bit differently. It works on iOS 8.1 and above and can be downloaded from the App Store for $2.99. Let us know if you give it a try and feel free to leave comments.
